Anna Marie’s mother passed away when she was only 9 years old, she spent 5 years in the foster care system when her father’s family Carol and Ben Rice took her in and cared for her. Anna Marie then moved on to live a wonderful life and graduated from Wayne High School in 1965 and obtained numerous college degrees and ultimately earned her master’s degree in education.

Anna Marie was a foster parent, a corrections officer at Dayton Correctional Institution (DCI), a college professor where she taught psychology at several local colleges and universities throughout Dayton and Columbus, Ohio. A brilliant writer, she wrote college textbooks and a cookbook.   She loved cooking and worked as the head chef for BP Goggs at the Arcade in downtown Dayton, Ohio. She owned a catering business. Anna Marie was a wonderful cook and passed down generations of “secret” recipes to our family.

Anna Marie loved nature and always walked; she walked so fast it was hard to keep up with her.
