MORRIS, Chrisoula K. “Sue”, age 94, of Troy, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025. Sue was born in Dayton, Ohio on December 31, 1930 to James and Haritomeni Kapnas. Her loves were for family and God. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, James “Jim” Morris; her son, Dan; her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Peter Mayer; sister and brother-in-law, Ann “Toots” and Dan Nickolas; brother and sister-in-law, Nick and Kathy Kapnas; brother and sister-in-law, John and Sue Kapnas; and several dear relatives. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. William J. and Mary Morris of Granville, OH; daughter and son-in-law, Maria M. and Dr. Fayez Abboud of Tipp City, OH; daughter and son-in-law ,Meni J. and Peter Spanorigas of Columbus, OH; her eight angel grandchildren, Chrissa (Frank), Jimmy (Eleni), Kosta (Marlena), Christina, Andrew (Anna), Alexandra (Anthony), Soula, Nick; Great grandchildren Demi, Constantine, Basil, Stephanos, Demetrios, Constantine (Tino) and Kassiani. She also leaves behind sister-in-law, Diane Morris and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and many friends in Dayton and Greece.
Sue graduated from Fairview High School and attended Miami Jacobs Business College. She worked for many years for Peoples Bank of Dayton, First National Bank of Dayton, and National City Bank as a Customer Service Representative, and consistently was presented with many awards for top performing employee. She was always sought out by her customers because of her superior customer service and their confidence in her judgment and recommendations.
Sue was a lifelong member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox church in Dayton OH. She was actively involved in various programs of her Church including the Committee for the Consecration of the church, chairperson of the Consecration Grand Banquet, co-chairman of the Philoptochos 50th year Anniversary, and chairing several concessions for the annual Greek Festival. She was a member of the American Institute of Banking, Philoptochos, and taught Sunday School. Her positive attitude assured success in all of her endeavors.
As a devoted wife, mother and yiayia, she will be deeply missed. We take comfort in knowing she is reunited with Jim, the love of her life, companion and best friend. The family would like to express our deepest gratitude and appreciation to the staff and residents of StoryPoint, Troy, OH. Sue’s final years were truly enjoyed while residing there.
Funeral service 11:00 AM Friday, August 1, 2025 at The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 500 Belmonte Park North with Father Anthony Cook officiating. Interment Woodland Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10 AM until service time at the church.
