CORCORAN, Cynthia Louise Corcoran “Cindy”, age 70, of Vandalia, Ohio, passed away on June 15, 2026. She was born on October 7, 1955, in Dayton, Ohio, to Don and Marilou Berger.

Cindy grew up in the Dayton area and graduated from Julienne High School in 1973. She went on to graduate from the Miami Valley School of Nursing in 1976 and began her career as a nurse at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Dayton. She later worked alongside her husband, Mark, at Englewood Family Practice, where she continued caring for others with the same compassion, honesty, and heart that defined her life. Though no one can measure the full impact of a nurse’s life, Cindy’s influence lives on in every patient she comforted, every family she supported, every colleague she mentored, and every act of kindness she shared.

On September 3, 1976, Cindy married the love of her life, Mark Corcoran, at Holy Rosary Church in Dayton. Their love story began through music and faith, as they first met while singing in the choir at Holy Rosary, where Mark served as organist. Together, they built a life rooted in devotion, family, laughter, and nearly 50 years of marriage.

Cindy retired in 2010 to spend more time doing what she loved most: being with her grandchildren. She adored Brenna, Cara, Rylee, Matthew, and Olivia, and treasured every chance to be part of their lives. Whether helping watch them, hosting sleepovers, attending sporting events, or simply spending time together, she showed her love through her presence, encouragement, and unwavering support.

Cindy had a gift for making people feel cared for often with a home-cooked meal, a holiday gathering, a listening ear, or a bit of valuable insight, whether it had been requested or not. She loved cooking, hosting family parties and holiday celebrations, and spending time with Mark and their family. Her humor, warmth, and familiar saying, “Good grief,” will be remembered with smiles by all who knew and loved her.

A faithful and devoted Catholic, Cindy was a longtime member of St. Christopher Catholic Church in Vandalia. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she especially loved singing in the choir with Mark, continuing the shared love of music that had brought them together so many years before.

Cindy is survived by her father, Don Berger of Troy, Ohio; her beloved husband of nearly 50 years, Mark Corcoran; her children, Eric Corcoran (Brittany) of Tipp City and Kelly Leger (Katie) of Vandalia; and her five cherished grandchildren, Brenna Corcoran, Cara Corcoran, Rylee Corcoran, Matthew Leger, and Olivia Leger; sister, Cheryl Young (Paul). She was preceded in death by her mother, Marilou Berger.

Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM Thursday, June 25, 2026 at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 435 E. National Road with Father Andrew Smith celebrant.  Entombment Calvary Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Wednesday at Marker & Heller Funeral Home, Huber Heights Chapel, 5844 Old Troy Pike.

Cindy’s life was a beautiful example of faith, love, family, and service. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
