Floyd Erwin Brand

Floyd Erwin Brand was born May 20, 1943 in Grass Lake, Michigan.  The son of Minor and Jennie (nee Rothman) Brand.  On August 10, 1969 Floyd and Marian (Kruse) were married in Sleepy Eye, MN and raised six children.

He departed this earthly life on March 20, 2023.

Pastor Brand preached fervently and steadfastly to his family and most recently to the congregation at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Melrose, WI.  His life was devoted to preaching the Word of God to his flock, wherever God led him.  We are humbled and have benefited greatly from his example of Christian faithfulness.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Dolores, and grandson Anthony Fimple.

His survivors include his wife Marian, and their six children and twenty grandchildren: John and Amy Brand, Jonas, Malachi, Auguste; Paul and Alicia Brand, Kathleen, Peter, Camille; Heidi and David Meier, Karl, Anna, Daniel, Caleb; Mark and Megan Brand, Amelia, Isaiah, Chloe, Ezekiel and their foster children; Sarah and Nathan Meier, Luke, Hannah, Matthew; Kristin and Gustav Fimple, Anthony, Magdalena, Norah. 

He is also survived by his brothers Robert (Marci) Brand and Max (Rita) Brand, and sister Marlene “Molly” (Tom) Bettinger, and many extended family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 24, 2023 at 4pm at St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church, 5040 Rye Drive, Huber Heights, OH 45424.  The family will receive visitors at the church from 3:00 pm until start of service.  Funeral arrangements entrusted to Marker & Heller Funeral Homes, Huber Heights Chapel.
