HILL, Lowell M., age 88, a lifelong resident of Dayton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at Randall Residence of Tipp City. Lowell was born October 4, 1935 to Henry & Marguerite Hill.
He enjoyed a long career with Dayton Power and Light starting out in customer service, a lineman and continued with the company as a supervisor and trainer. He enjoyed the DP&L retirement lunches with the people he had worked with for so many years. During his younger years Lowell was a volunteer fire fighter for Harrison Township. He enjoyed wood working of all kinds and made all types of stained-glass ornaments and sun catchers to share with family and friends.
He was a member of the Masons for many years and joined the Antioch Shrine. He worked diligently for several years restoring a Model A truck that he proudly took to the parades and Shrine activities.
Throughout the years, Lowell was active at Shiloh Church serving on several committees. He especially enjoyed his time as a camera operator for the church.
Lowell liked being active and always had projects to be accomplished. He became an employee of Marker & Heller Funeral Homes and worked in many capacities for several additional years.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Shirley. Lowell is survived by his daughter & son-in-law, Susan & Gary Heller of Vandalia; son & daughter-in-law, David & Katie Hill of Tipp City; son, Michael Hill of Anna; grandchildren, Dr. Stephanie & Nicholas Maus, Matthew & Cheryl Heller, Adam & Lindsey Hill, Alex & Stacie Hill, Austin Hill and Aaron Hill; great-grandchildren, Bradley Maus, Henry, George, Benjamin & Ruth Hill and Magnolia Hill; other relatives & friends.
Funeral service 11 AM Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at Marker & Heller Funeral Home, Huber Heights Chapel, 5844 Old Troy Pike with Pastor Jay McMillen officiating. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM Tuesday until service time. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Shiloh Church in Lowell’s memory.
