Nancy Zantal Obituary

ZANTAL, Nancy, moved to Huber Heights Ohio in 1959 with her husband Nick and young daughter Susan. Stephen was born 2 years later.

She enjoyed teaching in a private kindergarten at St Timothy's Church so much so that she pursued a teaching degree in Education from Wright State. She started teaching at Titus Elementary and encouraged her students to be the best they could be. To make reading fun she would dress up as characters from the books the class was reading. Nancy believed in making learning come alive for her students so she did many hands on learning activities with them.

When she decided to teach 4th grade at Shenandoah she went back to school to obtain her master's degree. She taught for many years always believing every child could learn. Nancy retired from teaching in 1997.

After teaching with some of her lifelong friends, Nancy started making and selling pottery with her business partner and they created Clay Peddlers. She and her friends enjoyed traveling to workshops, creating pottery, making friends and selling their pottery

Also during these retirement years, she started making quilts. Again it was a venture in creativity and friendship. Traveling for retreats to expand their knowledge with the Batty Binders Quilt Guild. She made extraordinary quilts and pottery. Whatever medium she chose her creativity would shine.

Throughout her life she has always been a kind supportive teacher. Helping pottery students in the class she was in. Guiding friends into pushing themselves with color and patterns in quilts and even at the end of her life teaching her caregivers how to cook.

Through her incredible life it makes us all realize how one teacher's care can inspire a lifetime of compassion.

She had an unwavering spirit and perseverance that will be carried forward for those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Her motto was No Act of Kindness goes unnoticed. It creates a ripple effect.

She will be greatly missed and remembered forever.
