LEDFORD, Nora J., age 86, of Huber Heights, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Danbury Senior Living. She was born in Perry County, Kentucky to Johnny and Peggy Messer, on March 20, 1936.  Nora was the 7th of 8 daughters.

Nora worked in the Personnel Training Branch at WPAFB and retired after over 20 years of service. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and Shriner Hillbilly Club.  Nora loved to host parties, play cards, go shopping, eat out and watch others put puzzles together.

Nora was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Peggy Messer; Sisters, Marie Scrivner of Northport, Alabama, Willa Mae Lewis of Xenia, Ohio, Gertrude Amburgery of Sugar Grove, Ohio, Dorothy Abraham of Centerville, Ohio, Anna Messer of Plattsburgh, NY, Lois Scrivner of Cottondale, Alabama; and longtime partner, Jack Thompson of Enon, Ohio.

Nora is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jonathon and Carla Ledford of New Carlisle, Ohio; daughter and son-in-law, Karla & Louis Carratola of Milan, Ohio; sister and brother-in-law, Lavada and William Perril of Beavercreek, Ohio; grandchildren, Leigha Ledford-Page and Brandon Ledford, Matthew Carratola, Maria Carratola-Smith and David Carratola; great grandchildren Kynsleigh, Grayson, Iris, Eulalie, along with many other relatives and friends.  Memorial service 2:00 PM Friday, February 10, 2023 at Marker & Heller Funeral Home, Huber Heights Chapel, 5844 Old Troy Pike with Chaplain Chris Young officiating. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to The Dayton Animal Shelter, SICA or the Shriner Hospital of Ohio in Nora’s memory.
