Reuben Powell Obituary

POWELL, Reuben, age 67, of Huber Heights, Ohio and formerly Jeffersonville, Indiana passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2025.  He was born on November 10, 1957, in Dayton, Ohio to Richard and Betty Powell.

Reuben followed his dream of becoming a super trucker and spent most of his life on the road, providing him the freedom he desired and the ability to see the country he dearly loved.  He was an avid lover of all types of music, and enjoyed playing guitar.  He was an extremely dedicated and loyal brother and friend, and he always had your back.  Reuben enjoyed many close lifelong friendships with his "brothers", special kin, and his closest friend since childhood, Nick Kinstle.

Reuben was preceded in death by grandparents Clyde and Lula Mae Dixon and Richard and Annie Mae Powell, parents Richard Powell, Jr. and Betty Powell (Dixon), sister Deborah Powell, and several close friends and relatives.  He is survived by sisters Karen Powell and Regina Powell, and Jeremy Parsons who he revered as a son and who revered Reuben as a dad.

Reuben left us way too soon.  He changed the lives of those he knew, and those lives will be changed again with his absence.  Reuben will always be remembered for living life on his own terms and his unique personality, sense of humor, loyalty, and gift of conversation.

A funeral service will be held at 6:30 PM Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at Marker & Heller Funeral Home, Huber Heights Chapel, 5844 Old Troy Pike. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 PM Tuesday until service time.
