A proud alumnus of Fairborn High School, Roy's journey after graduation in 1961 led him to serve his country with honor in the United States Navy. His service during the tense days of the Naval blockade of Cuba exemplified his bravery and commitment to his nation. Later, Roy continued to support his fellow servicemen and women through his work with the Air Force and various construction jobs.  Roy was a man who relished the simple pleasures of life, he found joy in fishing, playing darts, and cheering on his beloved Cleveland Browns and Ohio State teams.
