Sandra M. Brinkman Obituary

BRINKMAN, Sandra M. (Goubeaux), age 71, of Huber Heights, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2024 after a long illness. Born May 22, 1953 in Dayton, Ohio. Sandy was preceded in death by her father Robert Goubeaux, her mother Gaylee Smith, her stepfather, Paul Foley, her sister Susan Hazelrigg, her son-in-law Eric Cole, and her stepbrothers Gary Ireland and Sean Foley.

Sandy is survived by her loving husband of 52 years Robert Brinkman, her daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Robert Leik; Katherine and Nephi Whitehead; Elizabeth and Todd Smith; Maria and Jonathan Dekar; Anne and Anthony Leonard, and Theresa and Jacob McCutcheon. Her sons and daughters-in-law Gregory and Charissa Brinkman; Nathaniel and Alida Brinkman, and her son Matthew Brinkman; her brothers and Sisters-in-law Ronald and Carol Goubeaux; Robert and Jocelyn Goubeaux; her sister and brother-in-law Sharon and Gregory Steinmetz; her brother-in-law John Hazelrigg; her stepbrothers Kevin (Cheri) Foley and Mark Foley. She is also survived by her 23 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

She was a beautiful inspiration as a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and child of Jesus who cherished her family. She shared her creative talent of drawing, painting, cake decorating, crocheting, and sewing freely with others. She was a champion for life as evidenced by her many years on the staff of Elizabeth New Life Center and a member of the St. Peter Church Respect Life Group. She also directed the youth activities for the Catholic Order of Foresters (St. Joseph Court) for several years.

Sandy was a very dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She always had a smile and a caring attitude to all she met. People often commented that she was a beautiful woman with an open and welcoming heart and a radiant smile that would light up the room. Most of all, Sandy was a humble servant of the Lord and she will be greatly missed.
