GEWERTZ, Theodore Lewis “Ted”, age 93, of Kettering, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at his residence. Ted was a Master Sgt. for the U.S. Air Force, during the Korean War, retiring after 20 years of service and was a monument salesman at Piqua Granite. He was a member of Temple Israel, Dayton Lodge 147 F&AM for 75 years and Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton. He was preceded in death by his brother, Irving. Ted is survived by his loving wife, Donna M.; daughters & sons-in-law, Deborah & Steven Klein of MI, Michelle & Rob Epperson of GA; son, David J. Gewertz of Kettering; mother of his children, Bonnie Gewertz; step-children, Debbra & Bill Myers of Dayton, Mark & Irene Tron of IN; sister, Doris Cash of GA; grandchildren, Kyle, Jamie (Patrick), Gayle (Shane), Toby, Jessica (Yong); great-grandchildren, Lucas & Jemma; and many other relatives & friends.
Funeral service 10 AM, Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Temple Israel, 130 Riverside Drive with Rabbi Karen Bodney-Halasz officiating. Interment Riverview Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Marker & Heller Funeral Homes. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ohio Valley Hospice in his memory.
