Thomas P. Baker, Sr. Obituary
Thomas P. Baker Sr, age 93, of Huber Heights passed away peacefully on Friday, June 12, 2026 at Hospice of Dayton, after a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thaddeus E and Edith M Baker of Jenkins, Ky, 5 brothers and 4 sisters. Tom is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, Betty Ann, daughters and sons in law Rosemary & Jim Reiter, Elizabeth & Russell Ashmore, Rebecca (Lonnie) Wilson, sons and daughters in law Tom Jr & Vicky Baker, Timothy Baker, Christopher & Kathy Ervine, 12 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.
Tom was a US Navy veteran who served during the Korean war. He retired from the Inland division of General Motors with 31 ½ years of service. Tom attended North Huber Heights Baptist Church and New Beginnings Church of God, a member of Huber Heights Senior Citizens center and the VFW Post in Vandalia. Tom enjoyed bingo and dancing at the senior center. He never met a stranger and would strike up a conversation with people anytime anywhere. He enjoyed going to the casino and he really loved Bluegrass music and going to Bluegrass events. He was a huge University of Kentucky Wildcats fan. Most of all, he loved his sweet wife Betty and all his kids, grandkids and great grandkids.
We know he is with Jesus, probably singing and dancing to his favorite hymns. Fully restored, no more sickness, no more worries.
Funeral service will be held at Marker Heller Funeral Home in Huber Heights on June 19, 2026. The family will receive friends from 12PM -1PM, with the service beginning at 1PM with Pastor Marvin Engle officiating. Interment following the service at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
