Victor H. Thaler

THALER, Dr. Victor H. age 94, of Centerville, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2023. Victor retired as a Lieutenant Colonel with the U.S. Air Force and had a long-distinguished career as a Clinical Psychologist spanning over 40 years. During his years of practice, Dr. Thaler was the Chief Clinical Psychologist at USAF Hospital WPAFB as well as other AFBs; and Research Clinical Psychologist, Aerospace Medical Research Laboratory WPAFB. He was a member of the American Psychological Assn., American Academy of Psychotherapists, S.W. Ohio Assn. of Psychologists in Private Practice and the Society of Air Force Psychologists. He was Clinical Faculty at WSU School of Professional Psychology, Clinical Co-Director/Co-Founder of Ohio PhobiaCare, Clinical Supervisor Pastoral Counseling of Miami Valley Hospital & Greene Memorial Hospital, was a well-known consultant and for many years was an expert witness in numerous legal cases. He was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.

Victor is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Athena S. Thaler; two children, many caring nieces & nephews, other relatives and friends.

A private funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church with Father Anthony Cook officiating. Interment Woodland Cemetery. If desired memorial contributions may be made to The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Victor’s memory. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Marker & Heller Funeral Homes.
