WOODWARD, William R. “Bill”, age 78, of Tipp City, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2026 at Dayton VA Medical Center.  He was a retired Special Agent for AF OSI, retired from Miami Valley Fly Fishers and also Operation Project Healing Waters.  William was a 1965 Graduate of John Glenn High School, New Concord, Ohio. Bill was a Phi Beta Kappa 1969 Graduate of The Ohio State University, Phi Alpha Theta Honorary.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was an active member of Grace Community Church.

William was preceded in death by his father, Robert Woodward; mother, Dorothy Woodward nee Mehaffey.  Bill is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Gayle; daughters, Jennifer (Richmond) Baker, Denise Woodward, Carrie (Timothy) Scarpelli; Grace (Jeffery) Moore; sister, Cathy Jerew; brother, David Woodward; grandchildren, Alastair, Regan & Duncan Baker, Nathan, Jadan & Logan Scarpelli, Finley & Sullivan Moore; great-grandson, Oliver; and many other relatives & friends. 

Funeral service 11:30 AM Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at Marker & Heller Funeral Home, Huber Heights Chapel, 5844 Old Troy Pike with Pastor Tim Combs officiating.  Interment Dayton National Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10:30 AM until service time at the funeral home.
